Vintage Marx Toys Miniature President Statues - Washington to Nixon with stand

started making these president figures during Eisenhower’s term, white unpainted versions of these were offered directly by Marx in boxes, I believe 7 to a box. Marx made a few of the First Ladies, Vice Presidents, and Presidential candidates as well.
There are 37 president figures in all, up to President Nixon. Each figure is 2 2/4" tall and is hand painted. On the front of the base is the president's name, and on the rear of the base is the years in office as well as his number as president, for example, Abraham Lincoln #16. Nixon was the last president the Marx Company produced, it went bankrupt in 1980.
This set contains all 36 presidents from Washington to Nixon as well as the
styrofoam platform.
The Jewel Foods store offered these Marx president figures in the 1960’s and into the early 1970’s as a promotion. You could get the "president of the week" by purchasing a certain amount of groceries. You also could buy the styrofoam stand during the promotion.
Figures are in very good shape and the styrofoam platform has some minor wear. Most notable are holes on top of two of the columns. See pictures for details.
