Vintage GILCHRIST'S No. 31 Ice Cream Scoop Wood Handle and Brass

Very old ice cream scoop manufactured by the Gilchrist Co. out of Newark, NJ, which was in business from 1903 - 1926, according to what I could find. Other than the wood handle, it appears to be made completely of brass. Has some verdigris, shows wear, handle spins on shaft and has small crack at bottom. Works fine.  I tried to take a lot of pictures to give a good idea of markings and condition. Stamped on thumb paddle "GILCHRIST'S (arc) / N
