I've seen Vintage Wall Borders before but I have never seen any like this one and I am willing to bet you haven't either. Why not take a peek...
The Border is"Made in U.S.A." and "Printed in U.S.A." by Duro. It is 12 Feet long and slightly over 3- 1/2" wide. It is Pattern #636B and it features 2 Sailors who appear to be shipwrecked on a Tropical Island with Palm Trees with Coconuts. They have their Arms around each other so they don't appear to be too unhappy! There are also Sailboats, Buoys and Fish swimming in the Water with Clouds in the Background. The Paper is White with a Red Border Stripe on Top and a Black one at the Bottom. They Graphics are done in Red, Black and Silver Gray.
The Paper has never been out of the Box (I have more than 1 Roll and 1 was already out of the Box so that is what I used for the Photos). It appears to be in Excellent Condition with no storage odors from a smoke-free environment. Directions are on the Box but, seeing that this is probably about 70 to 80 years old I can't vouch for the fact that it will stick to the Wall without help. While it is meant for "Painted Walls" the Box does say it "will decorate cabinets, bathroom mirrors, hat boxes and numerous other articles." It originally sold for 40 Cents!
