Description
-You are ordering this German, cold war era (Between 1948 and 1957), beer stein.-Was made to order as a souvenir by CPL Robert E. MacCarrick of the 6th ACR (Armored Cavalry Regiment) stationed in Straubing, Germnay who's name is painted near the base.
-Fantastic, oversized figural lid featuring a pewter tank with undamaged gun tube (a lot of times these break off during shipping/moving).
-Face art is the vibrant DIU (Distinctive Unit Insignia) of the 6th Regimental Combat Team / Fighting 6th, Now the 6th Cavalry Regiment.
-Unit motto is "Ducit Amor Patriae" or "Led by Love of Country"
-Side art features crests for Straubing and Bayern.
-Nude silhouette lithophane on the base, NOTE: it is cracked but holding together. Cracks do not show when displayed.
-Base markings:
"George's Gift-Shop Landshut Outside the Main Gate" and an illegible, painted signature.
-Hoping this makes it way back to the unit historian, someone with connections to the soldier or soldiers family, or to a military stein collector who will preserve it for generations to come.
-Historical significance with the present day movement of armor in and out of the region.
