AS PRESIDENT, one page, 6.5x9, White House letterhead, August 8 1985. Letter to Hollywood friend Douglas Morrow, in full:
Thanks very much for your letter and the kind words of Dr. Loop.  If you are talking or writing him, please tell him I'm most grateful.
I'm glad you had the meeting with Jim Beggs and I share your good opinion of him.  Of course, I have trouble relating to your yen for an out-of-this-world buggy ride but will hope (for your sake) that it comes sooner, rather than later.
Now as to the rank of my Navy surgeon - I'm only glad that you didn't suggest he be a Petty Officer.
Nancy sends her best and give our regards to Margot.
Reagan has added an almost never-seen handwritten postscript:  "
P.S. Your letter of Aug. 6 has just reached me.  Thanks for the enclosures & the added information."

Douglas Morrow was a Hollywood screenwriter and film producer. He earned an Academy Award for his script for 1949’s The Stratton Story, a biography of Baseball player Monty Stratton, who was disabled in a hunting accident. Reagan, who catapulted to fame as an actor, became friends with Morrow when Morrow sought to cast him in that part, remained friends throughout the Hollywood days and kept in contact through most of his presidency.
