Nancy and I were saddened to learn that Margaret had died and we send you and your family our heartfelt sympathy.
Words can provide small comfort, but we want you to know how deeply we admire Margaret's legacy of a lifetime of generous energies devoted to the betterment of others. You and your children must be buoyed by having shared so many years with such a remarkable lady.
We hope that every prayer and blessing will sustain you.
Robert McNamara served as Secretary of Defense under Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson.
