    Description

An extremely rare commemorative postcard commemorating the first state visit and dinner that President Theodore Roosevelt held in the White House on February 24, 1902.  Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany had sent his brother, Prince Heinrich on a state visit to the United States.  He arrived in New York on February 23, 1902, and the next morning travelled to Washington for the East Room dinner, February 24th.  He would later travel to a number of American cities.  This card was postmarked in New York on February 25th, the day after the dinner.
