This is an authentic, extremely rare Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) Presidential Monogram Miniature Brick Paperweight emblazoned with LBJ, the President's iconic initials. .
The LBJ red brick paperweights were manufactured by the Butler Brick Company, a prominent company previously located in Elgin, Texas. Bricks made at the Butler brickworks were used in building the Texas State Capitol, as well as the University of Texas. It should come as no surprise that LBJ inserted himself in certain high-profile construction projects and these red brick paperweights are yet another symbol and example of the former President's power and influence. In the early 1900s, Texas was known as the "Brick-making capital of the nation", given the vast red clay deposits so prominent in the state. Butler Brick Company was family-owned until 2005.
