    Description

    Fine antique Mettlach beer stein with inlaid lid.  "Twelve Months" number 171.  0.25 L.
    VB, Villeroy and Boch.  Relief with blue and cream colors.  This beautiful stein features five figures (left to right): man drinking, man carrying jug and scythe, woman carrying sheave of wheat, man squeezing grapes into a cup, and man carrying crossbow with dog frisking at his feet.  Bacchus with grape leaves in his hair on lid.  Design attributed to Ludwig Foltz II.
    Measures approximately 6 inches tall, 5 inches wide.  From private collection in smoke-free home.
