This is a Cold War stein in the tradition of the German Regimental Stein. The 32d Tactical Fighter Squadron was created in 1989 per Wikipedia and flew the F16 shown on one side of the plane. American fighter aircraft had been at the Soesterberg Dutch air base since 1954. This likely was given to an Airman/Pilot named Chastain with a call sign Ginger as shown on the stein. A chance to own a unique piece of Cold War history.
Condition: Photos are of exact item you are receiving. This item has been on display. There are some minor marks on underside base. The lid has some minor aging and or discoloration. That may clean up but I'll leave that decision to the new owner.
Shipping by USPS Priority mail. I try and find the least expensive way to ship and factor in the need to cushion the item so it doesn't arrive broken. Steins are expensive to ship as their height (due to the lid) and the width (due to handle) make for a large box. I have bought a number of steins by mail and about a third arrived damaged as they weren't packed with enough cushioning. Even when well packed, they get broken sometimes. I don't add any fees for packing or handling. What the shipper charges is what it ships for.
I've added UPS Ground as an alternate service as it is showing a slightly less expensive rate for states that aren't near Texas. However, the rates for both are still high for many. I wish I had a cheaper way to get this to you but I can't find one.
