    Description

    Vintage/Antique Beer Stein. This  stein is 7 3/4" high. No lid but there is a hole for the lid.  No chips or cracks but does have significant crazing throughout.
    Germany beer stein with a loving couple and the words O Schone Jugendziet or O Beautiful Youth on the front. The sides of the stein have German castles and the words Bier, Lieb und Lied -- Beer, Love and Song -- and Schaffer froh Gemut which translates to something about cozy and happy. The handle is a twisted vine with leaves. The pewter lid has been removed, leaving a small rcircle  aperture in the top of the handle. The bottom is marked GERMANY and has the number 2 incised into the pottery.
    I bought this from a stein dealer in Florida and it was marked as Reinhold Hank 1900-1938. I left the tag on it from previous dealer. However, without any  mark from RH, I do not believe this piece to actually have been made by RH and I am unsure of the actual date of production. Just my opinion.
