    Franklin Roosevelt Chair and Photo
I have had this chair and photo for many years. It has been used as an accent chair in my living room.
You may wonder how I got this chair. Here is the answer.
The chair was inherited from the estate of Robert Joseph Tobin.
He was the owner of Creative Photography Inc in Washington DC.
He started out at a young age doing photography. He served as a private in the Army from April 22, 1957 to April 10, 1963. His duty was photographer for the Army.
He worked for The Hecht Company as a photographer for several years. Also, he worked with Nate Fine as photographer for the Redskins.
Initially, Bob had a photo studio at 1734 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
The building was sold for demolition for a new building. He then moved across the street to a new location. Eventually, he ended up at 2025 I Street where he was killed at the age of 47.
My friend received the chair when he bought out the photo business of H. T. Garrett located at 816 18th Street NW, Washington D.C. The owner told Bob that the chair had been brought to the studio to have FDR's picture taken in it.
As part of the sale,  he received the chair and the photo of FDR.
The photo had been taken by the owner of the studio. As stated up above, I am going by what Bob was told by the owner of the studio.
Franklin Roosevelt died April 12, 1945 in Warm Springs, Georgia. The relatives were notified but no one came to pick up the chair or photo.
It is possibly the last photo taken of him before his death. There was a portrait being done of FDR just before his death. Apparently, it was not finished but is hung in the home in Warm Springs, Georgia.
When Bob gave me the chair, it was covered in a striped soft silk fabric. Over time the fabric had worn. I had the chair upholstered to go with my furnishings. Also, I had the photo framed for safe keeping.
    Here are the measurements:
Back of chair from floor to top of chair is 48 inches high.
Back to end of arm is 24 inches.
Seat from one side to other is 25 inches
From floor to top of seat is 18 inches.
The weight is probably between 75 to 150 pounds. I do not have a scale where it could be weighed.
The chair would work well for anyone tall. It is very comfortable to set in even for a short person like me. It would have certainly worked well for such a tall person as FDR.
Since the finish covers up the wood, it is hard to tell what type of wood. I talked to a local antique dealer, she said that it was probably made in England from very early 1920 to 1930.
I am selling the chair with the photo for ,000.00. When you buy the chair, it will be up to the purchaser to make arrangements to get the chair either by picking it up or having it shipped at the purchaser choice and at purchaser cost.
I am just reducing the price to ,000.00.
