    JOHN TYLER & EDWARD EVERETT.
    John Tyler (March 29, 1790 - January 18, 1862) was the tenth president of the United States, serving from 1841 to 1845 after briefly holding office as the vice president to William Henry Harrison.  He was a stalwart supporter and advocate of states' rights, and later sided with the Confederacy during the Civil War.  On the other hand, Edward Everett (April 11, 1794-
    January
    15, 1865) who served as Tyler's Minister to Great Britain sided with the Union during the war.  He was the featured orator at the dedication ceremony of the Gettysburg National Cemetery in 1863, where President Abraham Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address.
