    the early days of the Kennedy Administration. Also, Mr. Hagerty served as White House Press Secretary only for President Eisenhower -- and not for President Kennedy. On the inaugural of President Kennedy, Mr. Hagerty resigned from his post and was succeeded by Pierre Salinger, who was the Press Secretary for President Kennedy. Mr. Hagerty, while the longest serving White House Press Secretary in US history, never served President Kennedy
