    Description

    AUTHENTIC Piece of Martha Washington's Personal Handkerchief.
    The 1"x1" portion that you will receive comes from an off-white handkerchief, approximately 12" square, ornately embroidered on its perimeter with flowers, belonging to Martha Washington, wife of our first president, George Washington.
    This handkerchief had been a part of Lot 2134 of the February 5, 2010 James D. Julia Auction of items from the Tobias Lear family. Lear's second and third wives were nieces of Martha Washington.
    It was purchased from University Archives located in Westport, Connecticut, a leading document and relic company in the United States.
    In total, you will receive 1) one 1"x1" portion of the handkerchief, 2) a copy of the description of the handkerchief from University Archives, 3) a copy of the "Certificate of Authenticity" from University Archives, 4) a copy of a picture of the entire handkerchief and, 5) a Starline Americana trading card of Martha Washington.
