    Description

Antique Swiss Jugendstil/Art Deco Pewter Beer Stein/Server Shooting Fest in Aarau dat.1924
    Description:
This absolutely fantastic antique pewter serving beer stein/pitcher was made in Switzerland, in the town of Aarau
It is made in late Jugendstil/Art Deco fashion specifically for the Swiss Shooting Fest that took place in Aarau in 1924. Beautifully designed octagonal tapered body cast of pewter with cast inscription. The inscription reads:
"Eidgen. Schutzenfest in Aarau 1924. Sektionswett Schiessen" - "Federal Shooting Fest in Aarau 1924. Section shooting"
Apparently, this magnificent stein was given as the first prize in one of the competitions. It is a striking eye-catching beauty in distinctive German/Swiss Jugendstil/Art Deco style.
The stein is in excellent condition with some minor age-related scratches unavoidable in a soft metal like pewter. Marked with the Eagle mark (the Coat-of-Arms of Aarau) and the initials "C.M.B."
It is 13" tall to the top of the thumblift, 2L capacity.
Please note - I have also a similar Swiss Shooting Fest stein from 1939. Please check my auctions!
