Do not need to switch the hose from vacuum to charging, prevent the air(non-compressible) into the system.
Note: some GM410a systems come with 5/16" system ports, adapters modeled CV23bp or CV23 or CV23Set are needed. for car AC R134a systems, quick couplers with 1/4 fittings are needed.
