    Description

VERY RARE Collection of (3) November1963 Newspapers, Covering the 11/63 Assassination of PRESIDENT JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY in Dallas, Texas
INCLUDING THE NOVEMBER 22, 1963 ISSUE FROM THE DAY OF ACTUAL ASSASSINATION
    DESCRIPTION:
Scans show it all. 3 complete newspapers from 1963 covering the shocking assassination of  President John Kennedy as it happened, day by day. INCLUDES THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FROM THE ACTUAL DAY OF ASSASSINATION ON NOVEMBER 22, AND THE DAY OF THE FUNERAL AND BURIAL ON NOVEMBER 25.
Loads of photos and articles on the subject, the swearing in of Lyndon Johnson on Air Force 1, as well as a wide variety of other period things. THIS COVER STORY WAS THE BIGGEST THING IN THE POLITICAL WORLD EVER, BIGGER THAN ANYTHING BEFORE OR SINCE. Absolutely shocking at the time.
Covers the actual shooting and death of the president, the funeral, and the burial in Arlington National Cemetary over several days. Interesting, as a number of huge ads in the back simply to the memory of president kennedy.
    Specifically, papers are
    1) THE NEWARK EVENING NEWS, 11/22/63, "President Killed by an Assassin"
    2) THE NEWARK EVENING NEWS, 11/25/63, "Sorrowing Nation Bids Goodby to President"
    3) THE NEW YORK TIMES, 9/26/64, "Kennedy Laid to Rest in Arlington"
Papers appear to be complete with all pages, although hard to tell, considering the various editions. The 11/22 paper may not be complete. It is the Late Sports Ediition, so probably thin, but only 2 pages. However, THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT  MOST APPEAR COMPLETE, AND THE FRONT PAGE OR SECTION OF EACH EDITION IS THERE, WITH LARGE-PRINT BANNER HEADLINES , WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. Close to 100 pages total among the three. And they are LARGE size papers, measuring 15" x 22", not the smaller dimensions we see today!! ALL OR PART OF THESE ARE QUITE SUITABLE FOR FRAMING!!!.
Great papers with full details, as it happened, INCLUDING THE FIRST DAY, of one of the most historical and significant events of the 20th century. He died at 2pm on the 22nd, and here it is already IN THAT DAY'S PAPER. GREAT READING AND GREAT ITEMS IN THIS LOT FOR THE COLLECTOR. In good-very good condition overall. Almost 60 years old.
A great lot for the historian, and even a GREAT GIFT AND A GREAT INVESTMENT FOR SOMEONE OF THE YOUNGER GENERATION to learn about it.  And great for framing for anyone, for the family room, man cave, or office wall.
