19th c. Hand Cut and Etched Red Flashed Bohemian Glass Tankard c. 1880

Description

I bought this beautiful cut and etched red flashed Bohemian tankard many years ago.  I think it dated to about 1880.  It is in gorgeous condition with the bottom edge of the foot shows the natural wear one would expect for a piece of this age.  It has fifteen individual square panels of which six are hand cut (in the case of the floral panel) and eight are etched (in the case of convex round cut panels).  The central panel with the engraved with  words "Zum Andenken" ("In Memory") also has an etched floral border.  The handle of the tankard has the notches for a pewter lid but it appears that this piece never had a lid.  It is 5" tall and is 3 5/8" in diameter at the base.
