The town of Plains, Georgia was a hive of activity in the summer of 1976, as the eyes of the nation fell upon its most famous son, Governor Jimmy Carter, poised to accept the Democratic Party nomination for president in that bicentennial year. Local businesses did a brisk trade in trinkets and souvenirs, and one establishment, run by a cousin of Jimmy's, saw fit to issue unofficial Carter campaign material, including this poster.
Not often do we come across a campaign item with a familial connection to the candidate!
