    Description

    ****An excellent WW1 Imperial German lidded beer stein, named to Johann Stautner which served in the 2nd Bavarian Cavalry from 1913-1916. This stein is an excellent hand painted piece with pewter lid, adorned with Imperial German imagery. The front shows Wilhelm the 2nd and two very high ranking men with an iron cross. The left side shows a cavalryman on horseback, accepting flowers from a young maiden. The right side shows many cavalrymen mounted, and ready to charge into glorious battle The back is very simple, with the images stretching almost completely around. The handle has a rather simple design painted onto it. The bottom shows a KR Germany stamp, as well as hand painted in German. The lid ornament has a cavalry officer ready to charge, with the thumb lever a Bavarian lion holding up the state's crest. There is a lithophane present in the bottom of this stein.
