The second inauguration of Lydon B. Johnson as president of the United States was held on Wednesday, January 20, 1965, at the East Portico of the U.S. Capital in Washington, D.C. The pre-inauguration gala, documented by these photos, was arranged by the Democratic National Committee and the President's Club to honor the incoming president. Multiple celebrities participated in the gala including Alfred Hitchcock, Nichols and May, Woody Allen, Ann-Margret, Bobby Darrin, Joan Baez, Barbra Streisand, Carol Channing, Harry Belafonte, Julie Andrews, and Carol Burnett.
Photograph versos stamped by cinematographer Frank Lafayette or Del Ankers, Broadway photography studio Friedman-Abeles, and Cecil Stoughton, the White House photographer for LBJ.

Condition:
Very good, vintage condition, as found. 127x61mm tear in upper right of Barbra Streisand, Richard Adler, and Jerry Meyers photo. 2x.5 cm tear in bottom left of photo featuring LBJ and Lady Bird greeting guests. Tear mostly affects white space of print but extends into picture plane by 40mm also in lower left.
